Celebrated film directorRituparno Ghosh was adjudged the Big Director of the Decade bythe public in the Big Bangla Movie Awards 2010.
Thanking the audience for the award at a programmehere last evening, Ghosh said he was touched to hear that thechoice was unanimous.
Ghosh, whose black and white film Dosar was selectedas the Film of the Decade, said he was confident that duringthe next decade award session, the choice would not beunanimous.
Lead actor of Autograph and the IFFI Golden Peacockwinner Moner Manush, Bengali superstar ProsenjitChatterjee was crowned as the Big Actor (male) of the Decade.
Prosenjit said he owed it to the countless fans forwhat he became today but would now crave for challenging roleswith different shades at this point of career.
Bollywood superstar Mithun Chakraborty has got thespecial distinction for his 35 years of contribution toBengali cinema in both arthouse films as well as potboilers.
Rituparna Sengupta was selected as the Big Actor(female) of the Decade for her contribution to Bengali cinema.
Bengali actor Dev was adjudged the Big Debut ofthe Decade, while Jeet Ganguly has been voted as the BigMusic Director of the Decade.
Besides the series of decade awards, there were also prizes selected by people forcurrent films, which were swept by Autograph.
The film bagged the Best Director (Srijit Mukherjee),Best Actor (Prosenjit), Best Negative Actor (IndraneilSengupta), Best Music Director (Debojyoti Mishra), Female Playback Singer (Shreya Ghosal) and Best Lyricist(Anupam Roy).
The Best Actor (female) award went to Paoli Dam for her performance in Moner Manush.
