RJ Mantra recently made a wild card entry in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa
Mumbai:
After playing small roles in Tum Mile, Game and Bheja Fry 2, radio jockey-turned actor Mantra has bagged his first solo film Dil Patang.
The film is being directed by Vivek Daschaudhary and is likely to come by year-end.
"I have a film releasing this year called Dil Patang. This is my first film as a solo lead...Dil Patang has me running around a lot, but I don't have a single song where I am dancing in the film," Mantra said.
"I am expecting year-end release...between October to November," Mantra said.
Last seen in comedy TV show Comedy Circus, he entered Colors' dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as one of the wild card entries. There are total seven celebrities who are chosen as wild card enteries and they will have to dance their way into the show.
"Major reason why I wanted to do Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as people will stop perceiving me as a comedian. People love to typecast you. I don't want to be type casted. I want to be versatile. This is why I picked up Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as it was good for me to get out of the comedy brigade and do dancing," he said.
Soon he will produce his first play.
"I have been part of plays before, but I will be producing my first play soon," he said.
