New Delhi:
Robert Downey Jr would like to thank his three-year-old son Exton for 'teaching him patience.' We'd like to thank Robert Downey Jr for posting this completely shareworthy (already shared over 5,500 times) GIF on Facebook on Wednesday.
Exton is RDJ's eldest child with wife Susan Levin. Their daughter Avri was born in November last year.
Patience hasn't always been on the 50-year-old star's list of virtues. Now the world's highest-paid actor according to Forbes, RDJ has a history of drug abuse. His now-glittering career was resurrected from a period of jail and rehab by an appearance in the music video for Elton John's 2001 single I Want Love. Roles in Gothika, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Zodiac followed until he finally made it back into the A league with Tropic Thunder and Iron Man.
RDJ's claim to a more abundant measure of patience might be disputed by Channel 4 journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy who had the actor walk out an interview midway last April, after questions turned to his difficult past. Robert Downey Jr, who was doing press for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, terminated the interview when he was asked about his relationship with his father and the addictions that put him in jail. He later told radio host Howard Stern that he should have walked out sooner. "I'm one of those guys who I'm always assuming the social decorum is in play, and that we're promoting a superhero movie, a lot of kids are going to see it, and that just has nothing to do with your creepy dark agenda," he said. Exton, however, can fiddle with his dad's tie for as long as he likes. No short fuse here.
I'd like to thank Exton Downey for teaching me patience.
