Twilight star Robert Pattinson isset to play Lawrence of Arabia in Werner Herzog's historicaldrama Queen of the Desert.
The 26-year-old actor has been cast as the male leadopposite Naomi Watts in the film about the life ofrevolutionary writer Gertrude Bell, reported Contactmusic.
Robert Pattinson will play TE Lawrence, a British Army officer,whose writing earned him international recognition under thename Lawrence of Arabia.
Naomi Watts is already on board as pioneering figure Gertrude,who was an author, archaeologist, explorer and political aidefor the British Empire and defined the borders of the MiddleEast.
She was also one of the first women to graduate fromOxford University.
Lawrence and Gertrude were close friends and workedtogether to establish the Hashemite dynasties in what becameJordan and Iraq.
