Besides Rockstar, Imtiaz has directed three films - Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal.
Mumbai:
Director Imtiaz Ali, who directed Rockstar, based on the life of a singer, reveals he had once taken up music lessons for sometime, but then he gave it up for his love for cricket.
"I used to learn Indian classical vocals when I was very young. The problem was it would happen at the same time when I went down to play cricket. So, ultimately over a few months, cricket won," the 41-year-old said here Monday at the launch of Chandrima Pal's book A Song For I.
"I think I must have learnt (music) for a year and of course, it took me less than a year to forget everything. I learnt raag Bhairav and raag Bhopali. I learnt these two raags first and there was a third one that I don't even remember," he added.
Besides Rockstar, Imtiaz has directed three films - Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met and Love Aaj Kal. Interestingly, the music of his films has always struck a chord with viewers.
