Rohit Roy was was hoping to cast A K Hangal in the remake of 1982 film Shaukeen , but rues his wish will remain unfulfilled after the veteran actor's demise on Sunday.
Hangal played Inder Sen, one of the three old men in the Basu Chatterjee movie, which also features Ashok Kumar and Utpal Dutt. Rohit was set to direct a new age version of the movie, with Bipasha Basu in the lead, and wished Hangal could have shot a cameo for it. "The dream of having one of the golden oldies feature in my version of Shaukeen will remain a dream with Hangal saab's passing away," tweeted Rohit.
Hangal passed away on Sunday morning following a prolonged illness. He was 97.
