Chennai: A family court dissolved the marriage of actor Arvind Swamy and his estranged wife as they sought divorce under mutual consent.
The 40-year-old actor, who starred in Mani Ratnam films like 'Roja,' 'Bombay' and 'Thalapathy', married Gayathri Ramamurthy 1994.
The couple, who have two children, has been living separately since December 2003.
Both of them moved the Family Court in May seeking divorce under mutual consent.
On December one, they appeared before the Principal Family Court Judge S Meenakshisunadram and sought a decree of divorce dissolving their marriage on grounds of mutual incompatibility.
Allowing the petition, the Judge said the marriage solemnised on June 3, 1994 as per Hindu rites and customs was dissolved by decree of mutual consent.
