London : Actor Ryan Reynolds has filed for divorce from his wife of two years, Scarlett Johansson.
The two announced their separation earlier this month but sparked speculation of a reconciliation when they were seen at a dinner together in New York.
But now, Reynolds has decided to end the marriage. The 34-year-old filed for divorce Thursday in a Los Angeles Superior Court. Johansson's response was filed at the same time, reports contactmusic.com.
Reynolds and Johansson issued a joint statement confirming they had split.
It read: "After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
The two got married in a private ceremony in Canada in 2008.
