New Delhi:
The trailer of Sachin: A Billion Dreams is all set to release today and the cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is trending, predictably. The biopic on legendary cricketer will reportedly release in Hindi and Marathi simultaneously on May 26. In an interview to mid-day, film's producer Ravi Bhagchandka said: "Before we started shooting the film, we decided it would be a great idea if the film was made in Sachin's mother tongue, lending a local flavour to the film." The film, directed by James Erskine, features Sachin Tendulkar, his colleague Virender Sehwag, son Arjun and Marathi actor Mayuresh Pem as his brother Nitin Tendulkar.
Producer Ravi Bhagchandka, who is eagerly looking forward for the trailer launch today, told mid-day that he is personally looking into the last minute arrangements. "I'm not nervous, but excited. Witnessing the master himself on the big screen is a treat. The teaser is a hit since Sachin himself narrates the story. It leaves one with much urge to experience the entire film," mid-day quoted him as saying.
Sachin: A Billion Dreams will narrate the story of Sachin Tendulkar's childhood and his journey as a cricketer.
On April 2, Sachin Tendulkar unveiled his maiden song, titled Cricket Wali Beat during Indian Idol 9 grand finale. Sachin, who collaborated with singer Sonu Nigam for his debut song, exclusively released it on his newly-launched app, 100MB.
Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in 2013. Sachin Tendulkar, started playing cricket at the age of eleven, has played 664 international cricket matches in total and scored 34,357 runs. He is currently the mentor of Indian Premier League team Mumbai Indians.
