New Delhi:
Minissha Lamba, Bollywood's cutesy-girl-turned-sexy-siren, is very, very miffed with Bheja Fry director, Sagar Ballary.
The actress and the director are working on the upcoming film, Hum Tum Shabana, which also stars Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, former VJ Pia Trivedi and Satish Kaushik.
The grapevine is that the producers of the film felt the need to shoot a music video with Minissha, without consulting its director, Sagar. Feeling neglected at the helm of his own film, Sagar decided that it was Minissha's prerogative to tell him about the video, for which he felt no need. Besides, with the post-production nearly complete, he didn't even know where to fit it in.
Straight and simple so far. Now here come the murky details:
Apparently, Sagar got so angry with the actress, who is also one of his close friends, that he made an impromptu decision to chop off her role, giving greater significance to Pia Trivedi's character, who plays Minissha's rival. Their storyline involves Minissha and Pia taking part in a beauty pageant, which Pia ends up winning.
Sagar has gone on record to admit he was upset with Minissha and had therefore decided to chop off her role and give precedence to a minor character.
Minissha, in retaliation, made the fight public by posting on Twitter:
"Dear sagar, what u did today was immature, graceless and not befitting the stature that a director ought to command."
The dirty subtext of the film industry just reared its ugly head. For the sake of amity, we hope the two resolve their issues quickly.
