Mumbai:
Phantom actor Saif Ali Khan says that though he wouldn't mind playing a 'classy gangster' on the big screen, but he cannot see himself fitting into an on screen version of real life mafia don Haji Mastan. (Also Read: Saif Ali Khan on Why Phantom is Like Akshay Kumar's Baby)
When asked about films on gangs of Mumbai, and if he would like to do characters on the lines of Haji Mastan, Saif told IANS, "Haji Mastan is a superb character. It is a very deadly character. But I can't do the role of Haji Mastan bhai. That is something Ajay Devgn can do."
Ajay had played a character inspired from Mastan in Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai.
Saif said that he wouldn't prefer playing a gangster using 'tapori' language, but something more sophisticated.
"I'd love to be a classy gangster. It would be an interesting character to do such. I'll have to do something different since people have already done this genre so many times," he said and added that he was eager to play different characters in his future projects.
