Salman has great music sense: Ek Tha Tiger composer
New Delhi: Music director Sohail Sen, who has composed for the upcoming Salman Khan starrer Ek Tha Tiger, says the actor has good sense in music and gave some valuable inputs regarding the film's soundtrack.

"I am a big fan of Salman Khan. I am happy that I got an opportunity to work with him. He has a great music sense. He has knowledge and he gave me suggestions while I was working on the music of the film," said Sohail.

Ek Tha Tiger will be the 27-year-old composer's second project with Yash Raj Films after Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

"Yash ji has been like a father figure to me. The whole Yash Raj team is very warm. The benefit of working with them is that you get to access the best studios. I have a three film contract with them. Currently, I am working on Ali Abbas Zafar's next. But it is not that I can't work with other production houses," he said.

Sohail debuted as a film composer with the 2008 film Sirf, which went unnoticed. Later, he gained fame with his work in What's Your Raashee?

Asked what made him choose to become a composer, he said, "I come from a family of musicians who have worked in the film industry. I am the fourth generation of my family to step into the field of composing.

"My father, Sameer Sen (of the music director duo Dilip Sen Sameer Sen) has always been a strong influence in my life and so was my paternal grandfather Shri Shambhu Sen's singing," he said.

Sohail also said that being new in the music industry, he prefers to work with new, budding singers rather than famous names.

"I like to work with new singers. I am also new here as compared to others. That is why I think even I should give chance to budding talent, the way others gave me. But that does not mean that I don't want to work with established singers."

Sohail said he likes experimenting with music and tries to add something new to each film he composes music for.

"All the films that I have done are different from each other. Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey had a old world charm, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan had thumping tracks. With Ek Tha Tiger, I have tried to mix world music with commercial cinema."
