Salman is Pulkit’s mentor in the industry.

Newcomer Pulkit Samrat says he trieshis best not to disappoint superstar Salman Khan, who is hismentor in the industry.
"He is a rock star, the best human being I have evermet. I truly love and respect him as a person. Hiscontribution is great (towards my film career), his belief inme as an actor is something I could have never thought of,"Pulkit, 30, told PTI.
"His support means a lot to me. I do feel nervous at timesabout disappointing him. I try not to let his expectationsdown," he added.
Pulkit, who played a cop in Salman-starrer Jai Ho, didmanage to get noticed alongside the Dabangg star in theaction film, which released in January."It was a great learning experience. I started my journeyin this industry through TV. I never assisted anyone. So Inever had the opportunity to understand and read how a starworks. I am glad that with Jai Ho I got the opportunity towitness this," he said.
The Fukrey star said he is currently going through manyinteresting scripts."It is an exciting period I am reading several scripts,"he said.
The actor, who made his debut in Bollywood with BittooBoss, appeared next in Fukrey and Jai Ho. His upcomingfilm O Teri is produced by Salman's brother-in-law AtulAgnihotri.
When asked if he landed O Teri because of his relationwith Salman, Pulkit said, "I am thankful to bhai (as Salman isfondly called) and Atul to support this film. To do a filmthat is supported by them is a dream come true. It was bhaiwho first took the narration and then Atul and Alvira".
"He was concerned what kind of work was coming my wayafter Bittoo Boss and Fukrey. When I told him about thisfilm (O Teri) he wanted to hear the script, he liked it andeventually things fell in place," he added.
Salman, who did a cameo in O Teri, was well aware aboutthe plot of the film and was very much involved with theproject.
In O Teri, Pulkit will be playing the role of ajournalist. He went to Delhi to understand the functioning ofmedia offices as a part of the research for his role.Directed by Umesh Bist, the film has been produced bySalman's sister Alvira and her husband Atul Agnihotri.The film which also stars newcomer Bilal Amrohi, besidesAnupam Kher and Sarah Jane Dias, is slated to release on March28.
