Bollywood actor Salman Khan will reportedly pass on the prestigious mantle of Bigg Boss host to filmmaker Farah Khan starting next month.
The only reason Farah is taking over hosting duties from Salman is because the eighth season of the show has received an extension of a month and will not end on January 4 as scheduled earlier. Salman will be unable to host the show for the extended period as his dates are already committed to shooting Bajranji Bhaijaan.
The end result is that Salman will not be hosting the controversial show from January 4 and will instead be shooting in the interiors of Rajasthan. The producers reportedly first approached Karan Johar and Anil Kapoor to replace Salman, but both refused. Farah, a big fan of the show, agreed to come on board.
Farah Khan is the director of 2014 blockbuster Happy New Year, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
