Mumbai:
Actor Shah Rukh Khan says he is 'happy' for his colleague and friend Salman Khan after his acquittal by the Bombay High Court in the 2002 hit-and-run-case.
"I haven't spoken to him. But on a very personal level, without getting into anything bigger or generic, he is my friend, my colleague, we have known each other for years so if something good happens to him, we all feel happy," Shah Rukh told the press.
The Chennai Express actor said he would try to visit Salman soon.
"I am glad. In whichever way the judgement has gone it's positive for him. So we feel happy. But I haven't spoken to him yet. May be if I get time I'll go meet him," SRK said.
On December 10, seven months after a sessions court convicted and sentenced Salman Khan to five-years of imprisonment in May, the Bombay High Court absolved the actor of all charges in the case. It held that the prosecution had failed to prove its case.
Salman, meanwhile, will celebrate his 50th birthday on December 27.
