On the second day of the movie, Salman's Prem has fetched numbers which surpass day one collections of movies like Kick (Rs 26.40 crores) and even Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 27.25 crores).

PRDP closed day one with box office receipts in the region of Rs 40 crores nett and left behind Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year which released Diwali 2014, recording the biggest first day in Bollywood history. It also marked the biggest single day of all time, defeating the first Sunday figures of Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK which were about Rs 38.50 crores nett.
