New Delhi:
Tiger Zinda Hai, the sequel to Salman Khan's 2012 hit Ek Tha Tiger, is certainly going to be louder than its original, if not bigger and better. The project, co-starring Katrina Kaif, is in its last schedule of filming and is prepping for its climax scene. As revealed by director Ali Abbas Zafar in a tweet, the finale will involve 10,000 rounds of gunfire, presumably with blanks. Mr Zafar posted a picture of what he hashtagged an armoury with several guns leant against the walls. "Ready to fire 10,000 rounds of fire...the madness begins," Ali Abbas Zafar tweeted. Tiger Zinda Hai is currently filming in Abu Dhabi.
Over the weekend, Ali Abbas Zafar revealed that the film was in its final schedule and that he was both nervous and pumped about shooting the 'heavy duty climax':
Mr Zafar has directed both Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif before - he made last year's blockbuster Sultan with Salman in the lead and directed Katrina in 2011's Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. As this tweet reveals, he's not easy to impress:
Ali Abbas Zafar takes over stewardship of Tiger Zinda Hai from Kabir Khan who directed Ek Tha Tiger. Salman and Katrina both return in their roles from the original film - a RAW agent named Tiger and a Pakistani spy called Zoya. Girish Karnad also reprises his role as Tiger's boss. Additions to the cast of the sequel include Paresh Rawal and Angad Bedi.
Salman Khan and Kabir Khan recently reunited for this year's Eid offering Tubelight, which was received coldly by both critics and cine-goers. Katrina Kaif was last seen in Jagga Jasoos opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Apart from Tiger Zinda Hai, her upcoming projects include Thugs Of Hindostan with Aamir Khan and an untitled film starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Tiger Zinda Hai, produced by Yash Raj Films, will release this Christmas.
