The last time that SRK and Salman clashed at the box office was in 2006
New Delhi:
Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan may have hugged and made up during Iftar parties over two consecutive Ramzans but when it comes to their professional rivalry, the fight just got more interesting. On June 23, Yash Raj Films announced the release date of Sultan, starring Salman Khan, as Eid 2016. It has now been confirmed that Sultan will indeed clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Raees at the box office next year.
Ritesh Sidhwani, producer of Raees and co-owner of Excel Entertainment with Farhan Akhtar, made this clear in tweets:
What is interesting is the fact that the last time Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan came face to face at the box office also involved an Excel Entertainment Film - Shah Rukh starred in the Farhan Akhtar-directed and Ritesh-produced Don, Salman was part of Jaaneman, directed by Shirish Kunder and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. But that was many moons ago. Much has changed for both Salman and Shah Rukh since the Diwali of 2006. While Shah Rukh had triumphed then, let's see if the odds will change now in Salman's favour.Watch:
