Los Angeles:
Daniel Craig "knew" Sam Mendes would do a great job directing Skyfall.
The 44-year-old actor - who reprises his role as James Bond in the latest 007 movie - had every confidence in the filmmaker's ability to helm the motion picture because he is so "passionate" about the spy franchise.
Speaking at the World Premiere of Skyfall at London's Royal Albert Hall tonight (23.10.12), he told BANG Showbiz: "Sam, I knew he was the right man for the job. He's passionate about film making but he's also passionate about Bond movies." Daniel - who played 007 in 2006 movie Casino Royale and 2008's Quantum of Solace - insists tonight's Skyfall premiere was the "biggest and best" he's ever been to and he was honoured to receive an "incredible" reception when he arrived.
He explained: "The reception is incredible. This is my third Bond premiere and it's the biggest and the best." Ben Whishaw - who plays gadget expert Q in Skyfall - praised Bond fans for making the evening a "wonderful" occasion, and admitted he is "thrilled" to be part of legendary film series.
He added: "It is a wonderful night, and I'm so thrilled to be a part of this phenomenon."Other stars of the movie who attended the premiere included Dame Judi Dench (M), Naomie Harris (Eve), Berenice Marlohe (Severine), Javier Bardem (Raoul Silva) and Ralph Fiennes (Gareth Mallory) as well as director Sam Mendes.
What's more, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall also greeted fans on the red carpet as did actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson and his wife Sam Taylor-Wood.
