Shaakuntalam: Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Film Gets A Release Date

The film is based on the Indian play Abhijnanashakuntalam

Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Shaakuntalam  finally has a release date. The announcement was made by the actress herself. Along with a poster featuring herself and Dev Mohan, Samantha wrote, “November 4 it is.” She has also added a white heart emoji to it. Samantha looks regal as Shakuntala in a pastel colour outfit with gold embellishments all over. Dev Mohan plays King Dushyanta in the film. Shaakuntalam is based on the Indian play Abhijnanashakuntalam by the great poet Kalidasa. Apart from Telugu, Shaakuntalam will release in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada. 

Actress Raashii Khanna spoke for all of us when she wrote, “Beauty” in the comments. Fans have flooded the section with fire, red hearts emojis. One user wrote, “So gorgeous”.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, earlier this year, shared her first look poster from Shaakuntalam. In the pic, Samantha, dressed in a white number, is surrounded by deer, peacocks and swans. For the caption box, she said, “Presenting...Nature's beloved...The ethereal and demure…“Shakuntala” from Shaakuntalam.”

Shaakuntalam marks the debut of Allu Arjun's daughter Allu Arha. She will be seen as Prince Bharata in the film. At the time of the announcement, Allu Arjun wrote on Instagram, “A proud moment for the Allu family to announce that the fourth generation, Allu Arha will be making her debut with Shaakuntalam movie. I want to thank Gunasekhar garu and Neelima Guna garu for giving my daughter this beautiful movie as her debut… I had an altogether different journey with Samantha and am happy to watch Arha debut with her movie.”

Shaakuntalam is directed by Gunasekhar. The film is produced by Neelima Guna and Dil Raju. The movie also features  Sachin Khedekar, Ananya Nagalla, Mohan Babu, Gautami and Aditi Balan in crucial roles. Apart from Shaakuntalam, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has Kushi opposite Vijay Deverakonda. She was last seen in Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
