Wrestler-actor Sangram Singh has turned down a role in Aamir Khan's Dangal.
Aamir will play the role of legendary wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat in the movie.(Also Read: First Look: A Very Muddy Aamir Khan in Dangal)
"The film was offered to me. The role was small. Also, my character in the film had to lose a fight to Aamir which I felt was incorrect. I am a wrestler. I feel that I should promote positive things. I don't want to disappoint people," Sangram told PTI.
However, Sangram said that Aamir is a fantastic actor.
"He is a brilliant actor and is very dedicated. He is excellent in whatever he does. He is a huge star. The fact that he is playing the role of a wrestler will surely spread positivity about the game," said Sangram.
Dangal is scheduled to release next year.
