Sanjay Dutt to reprise Sher Khan's role in Zanjeer remake
There were also rumours doing the rounds that Sonu Sood was to play the same part but informers tell us that he will now be doing the Telugu version.
Mumbai: After much ado, Sanjay Dutt is back in Apoorva Lakhia's Hindi remake of Zanjeer.

The actor will be playing the iconic character of Sher Khan, which was originally essayed by Pran. Earlier, the actor had opted out of the film and was replaced by Arjun Rampal.

There were also rumours doing the rounds that Sonu Sood was to play the same part but our informers tell us that he will now be doing the Telugu version of the film instead.

Apoorva Lakhia said, "I am so blessed that Sanju sir will be playing the role of Sher Khan while Sonu, who has a huge market and is a big star down South, will be doing it in Telugu. Ramcharan Teja is playing Amitabh Bachchan's role in both the films."

A source added that Ram Charan Teja, who is a family friend and gym buddy of Sanjay Dutt, was extremely happy to be working alongside the actor. Ram Charan Teja even apparently called Sanjay Dutt after signing the project.

Apoorva Lakhia said, "Earlier Sanju sir had some date issues. We approached him with the script again and he suggested some changes that we made. Dutt's manager and his team managed to work out the dates for us this time. We start shooting next month."
