Los Angeles:
She had stolen the spotlight from her mother, controversial Republican leader Sarah Palin with her single mother saga, and Bristol Palin has now joined the cast of the hit reality TV show 'Dancing With The Stars'.
The 19-year-old who had announced her pregnancy when Palin was the running mate of John McCain in the 2008 US Presidential elections, is now attempting to dance her way to a disco ball trophy and reality TV stardom.
During the cast announcement of the show's 11th season, Bristol said that her mother was "excited" about her being on the show, reported People magazine online.
"She's excited for me. She knows that this going to be hard work, but she's excited," Bristol said.
When asked whether the former Alaska governor would be cheering her on from the studio audience, she replied, "Hopefully."
Bristol has committed to weeks of wearing sparkly outfits to compete against a star studded line-up.
This season's cast includes pop singer Brandy; Dirty Dancing's all-grown-up Baby, Jennifer Grey; 'The Hills' star Audrina Patridge; Jersey Shore's Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino and 'Baywatch' hunk David Hasselhoff among others.
Palin too will soon be joining the reality TV bandwagon, with a series debuting on TLC in November, and former fiance Johnston too is shopping around a reality show in which he runs for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.
