Chennai:
Kannada cine-goers are aware of PC Satya, who made debut as an actor and director with film Sundarapurusha in which Shashikumar played the lead role.
Satya proved his mettle as director with film Majestic which was considered as a lifeline for Challenging Star Darshan. He had also played a negative role in Puneeth Rajkumar-starred Arasu.
Now, Satya is set to appear as hero on the silver screen while 'Mungaaru Maley' fame Pooja Gandhi is paired with him. The film's title is 'Paagal' (meaning a person with psychological problems).
"It is about how a person loses importance in society if he fails to take a right decision at the right time," said Satya. When asked about the problems while facing camera as a hero, he says, "Though played character roles in many Kannada films, I was nervous while facing the camera for Paagal."
He further added, " It was not easy for me to play the lead role but I took it as a challenge. I have done my work and now it is up to the audience to accept it."
According to him, Pooja Gandhi is playing a sulm-dweller role for the first time in her career. Muralidhar, who made debut with film Anjadhiru, plays the villain role while Thulasi Sivamani as Pooja Gandhi's mother in this action, romance and sentiment-oriented flick. Film was shot in Bangalore, Mysore and Chikmagalur.
Responding about the message the film conveys to the society, he said, "Though it has all commercial elements, it has a message to society. It also conveys how to trust people and how to protect from being cheated," he said.
"The response is very good. We have included a re-mix song (Ille swarga Ille Naraka of film Nagarahole that was made more than three decades ago) in this film. Music lovers have received Paagal audio well," said he signing off with a smile.
