Los Angeles: Hollywood A-listers Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds are calling it quits: after two years of marriage, they have gone separate ways, they said Tuesday in a statement cited by People magazine.

The American Johansson, 26, famous for roles in films such as Lost in Translation and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and her killer curves, had said in press reports that being apart from Canadian star Reynolds due to filming schedules was hard on a relationship.

"After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage," the couple said. "We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."

"The couple quietly split six months ago, and Johansson initiated the move. The actress began apartment-hunting in New York City and is currently in Jamaica with some girlfriends," the magazine said citing an unnamed source. Johansson is a New Yorker.

In case he's crushed, he shouldn't have too hard a time finding a date: Reynolds, 34, was just named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" two weeks ago.
