Lost in Translation star Scarlett Johansson says she is keen to direct a film.
The 27-year-old actress has been working on her own feature film for years, and is keen challenge herself,reported Contactmusic.
"I would like to direct a feature. I've been developing it for years. It's good. I just want to work on stuff that'schallenging to me, physically, emotionally. I don't want to do anything that doesn't scare me a little bit," Johansson said.
The Avengers actress is looking to play established characters in future movies, and she has her sights set onportraying silent film star Norma Desmond in a remake of 1950 movie Sunset Boulevard.
"As I get older I sort of see that I'm able to kind of move away from characters that are transitional. I'm nowlooking at characters - women - that are established and are where they are because of where they came from and have abackground."Actors are always asked to do things that are absolutely ludicrous, whether you're rappelling down the side of abuilding or crawling through the woods or fulfilling yourself emotionally. I want to play Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard someday. But I need a couple more years," she added.
