Actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is reportedly set to star in kidnapping drama Cry Macho.
However, it is not clear whether the film will be his first post-office project, Variety reported.
"Gov Schwarzenegger has not made a decision about what his first movie project will be. There are a number of possibilities, but as of right now, no decision has been made," his spokesperson said.
The Godfather producer Al Ruddy is behind the long in the line project, which is based on the 1975 novel by late author N Richard Nash. Nash adapted the screenplay before his 2000 death.
The film will be directed by Brad Furman of the The Lincoln Lawyer fame.
Cry Macho will see Schwarzenegger playing an alcoholic horse trainer who becomes a pawn in an international kidnapping plot after losing his wife and child.
Schwarzenegger has given Ruddy and the rest of the Cry Macho team the go-ahead to use his participation as part of their pitch as they put financing together.
Meanwhile, the actor is also considering a starring role in Last Stand.
He is also looking at reviving the Terminator through his agency. Fast Five director Justin Lin is attached to direct.
