New Delhi: Over two decades ago, actresses Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon took the ultimate ladies-only road trip in Thelma & Louise (1991). Their weekend escape didn't work out so well after they shot a would-be rapist and then went on the run across America. On the way, they picked up a handsome, thieving hitch-hiker, played by a young Brad Pitt, and also, apparently, invent the selfie.
This picture, over which the credits of the film rolled, is the world's first selfie, Ms Sarandon claims now - taken in a pre-phone camera era, using two hands.
Now, 23 years later, Thelma and Louise reunite for selfie #2.
Looking at the picture circa 2014, you'll be surprised to know that Ms Sarandon is now 67 and Ms Davis 58. Apart from the Nineties hair, make-up and giant sunglasses, they don't look all that different.
Brad Pitt, on the other hand, looks very different now.
Thelma & Louise is considered an important movie for its feminist message and won a slew of awards when it released, including an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Both Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis were nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars, and won a series of trophies at other award shows.
