Seven Malayalam Films To Compete For National Award

Thiruvananthapuram: Seven Malayalam films, including Makara Manju (Mist of the Capricorn) by noted film-maker Lenin Rajendran, have been chosen by the South zone selection committee of the jury to compete in this year's National Film Awards.

Other Malayalam films are Pranchiyettan and theSaint by Ranjith, Veetilekkulla Vazhi by Biju, Gaddama by Kamal, Atmakatha by Premlal, Adaminte Makan Abu by Salim Ahamed and Janaki by M G Sasi.

Culture department sources said three other critically acclaimed films Yugapurushan (R Sukumaran), T D Dasan standard B (Mohan Raghavan) and Electra (Shyamaprasad) failed to make it to the list.
