The makers of Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Shaakuntalam have unveiled the new release date of the film. The actress, on Monday, shared a new poster of the film on her Instagram handle, featuring her with Dev Mohan. Along with the poster she announced that the movie would hit the theatres this year on February 17, worldwide. "Witness the Epic Love Story #Shaakuntalam in theatres near you from Feb 17th 2023 Worldwide! Also in 3D," read the caption. The Telugu film was earlier scheduled to release last year on November 4.

Helmed by Gunasekhar, Shaakuntalam is a mythological drama based on Kalidasa's Abhijnana Shakuntalam. The story revolves around an epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant. The movie also stars Kabir Bedi, Prakash Raj, Sachin Khedekar, Jisshu Sengupta, Dr M Mohan Babu, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan and Ananya Nagalla in pivotal roles. The movie will also be released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu has been keeping a low profile ever since she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis. Ahead of New Year, she shared a cute selfie on her Instagram handle and dropped a beautiful note about "newer and easier resolutions" that are "kinder and gentler." She wrote, "Function forward...
