Producers Fox Studios had recently roped in comical duoof Ranvir Shorey and Vinay Pathak to do the Hindi voice oversfor Blu's friends Nico and Pedro respectively.
Jesse Eisenberg, who rose to fame after his portrayal ofMark Zuckerberg in
The Social Network, has lent his voicefor Blu in the original version of the film; whereas AnneHathaway dubbed for Jewel.
Set in the city of Rio de Janeiro and the lushrain-forest of Brazil,
Rio is a comedy-adventure whichcentres around Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last ofhis kind. When Blu discovers there is another, a female at that, he leaves the comforts of his cage in small townMinnesota and heads to Rio.
