New Delhi: Shadab Faridi, the soulful voice behind the song Tu hi haqeeqat song from the movie Tum Mile, has been roped in to sing for the sequel of 2010 blockbuster Dabangg.
"As a singer I feel very lucky that I get a chance to be part of Salman Khan upcoming movie. As a Sufi singer it is great to be work with Bollywood Khans," Shadab Faridi, who was a contestant on music reality show Music Ka Maha Muqabla, said in a statement.
Shadab Faridi has previously sung for the films like Rann, Jodi Breakers and Agent Vinod.
He had also sung for one of the episodes of Aamir's Khan's Satyamev Jayate.
Dabangg 2 will see Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha reprising their roles while the new addition to the cast in actor Prakash Raj.
The shooting of Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer Dabangg 2 is half-way through and the movie will hit the theatres on December 21, 2012.
The film is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster of the same name and is being directed by Salman Khan's younger brother Arbaaz Khan.
There were reports that Karisma Kapur, who was last spotted in Dangerous Ishhq, has been offered an item number in Dabangg 2 by none other than Salman Khan himself.
If true, the opportunity might give Karisma another stab at stardom after her comeback film received a lukewarm reception at the box office. Karisma, known for her dance skills, might get a chance to impress movie buffs just like Malaika did in Dabangg.
Sources say that the item number will be a fusion of north Indian folk and western dance and will be choreographed by none other than director Farah Khan.
