Shah Rukh Khan is on promotion duty for his upcoming film Chennai Express.
New Delhi:
Ready , steady , po. As Chennai Express chugs into cinemas, King Khan says his train of thought is "mellifluous", blaming it on the Delhi rains.
Nervous when first signed by Rohit Shetty for his "brand of cinema" of over-the-top action and comedy, the actor said there has never been a dull moment on the set, though he was worried for his co-star Deepika Padukone.
The Kannadiga actress, who admitted playing Meena was tough, said the comedy apart, it was the Tamil-accented Hindi that was a tough call.
Dressed in a fitted floral dress with 6 inch long pale pink Dior stilletoes, the actress is a record holder of sorts - the first leading lady, who in a span of six years has completed 15 films, impressing her co-star as well, who had only one request to her: "Please do not wear heels, you don't need to, Deepika, you are too well heeled to have another pair of heels."
As the proverbial lover boy turns 40 on-screen, Shah Rukh said age didnt matter to him since his heroine loved him when he played a 65 year old man on-screen too. His character Rahul leads a mundane existence till he gets on a wrong train on his 40th birthday. A wrong train takes him to the right place, such is the way life.
As they bring some southern comfort on-screen, it seems the Lungi Dance has indeed impressed the man to whom it's dedicated to - Rajinikanth.
"We just got a call from Rajini sir, he said I watched it on YouTube, you guys have done a fab job, I love it," said Shah Rukh.
The two stars said that their chemistry in Chennai Express is far more sizzling than what we saw in Om Shanti Om, and, as Shah Rukh thought about a film of his which he could remake, Deepika said , "It would have to be Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge with me."
Relaxed and between sips of coffee, he graciously accepted congratulations on the birth of his third child AbRam, saying he had not spend any time with him, since no one is allowed to as he is still in a protected environment.
What about him having his papa's charming dimples? The actor said he had heard but was yet to see for himself.
Soon after Chennai Express arrives at the theatres on the August 9, King Khan starts work on the pre-production of Farah Khan's Happy New Year while Deepika takes time off for a mini holiday, the location unlike another actress, she refused to divulge.
