Superstar Shah Rukh Khan allegedlypunched and slapped Farah Khan's filmmaker husband ShirishKunder at a private party thrown by Sanjay Dutt.
The fracas took place late last night at the Agneepathsuccess party at a nightclub where Shah Rukh is said to haveroughed up Kunder, who has been taking potshots at the actorand his mega budget film Ra.One on Twitter.
The Jaan-E-Mann director reportedly left the party witha swollen face. The party also came to an end and Dutt and SRKleft with the owner of the nightclub soon after.
Shell shocked with the incidents of the night gone by,Kunder was expectedly jittery once slap-gate incident startedpicking up heat.
"Everyone knows what really happened at the party; itisn't a hidden fact at all. Of course it was ugly and I wasquite shaken up with what happened. When someone attacks youfrom behind and comes prepared with a set of bodyguards toprotect his own self, you don't really have a choice, do you?"All I feel is that if at all there was so much pent upanger in him, he could have gone verbal. Getting physicalhasn't reflected well on either of us," Kunder said tonight.
Shah Rukh Khan tweeted in the night but made only anindirect reference to the episode.
"Another long nite. Shooting for a public service msg filmabout education peace & harmony. Feels ironic when I read &see wot is being said," he said, without making any mention ofthe fracas.
Kunder, the Jaan-E-Mann director, had left the partywith a swollen face. The party also came to an end and Duttand SRK left with the owner of the nightclub soon after.
"Frankly, this is hardly the kind of attention that Iwant. In fact I am wary of any kind of attention, be it forsomething as wrong as this which was completely unprovoked oreven something good for which I may have been responsible. Ilike to keep a low profile and Sunday's late night party wasone of those rare instances when I actually attended agathering," Kunder said.
Farah spoke about the incident in a statement but deniedthey were going to pursue the matter with police.
"Shahrukh has always told me that physical abuse is theworst way to sort out a problem, and that it means the personwho's hitting has either a personal or professional crisisgoing on. So it saddens me to see him doing the same," Farahsaid in a statement.
Kunder had earlier taken to his Twitter account to say:"Thanks for all your concern & wishes. We are very grateful.Contrary to rumours, we have no intention of filing a FIR orpolice complaint."
Dutt, who was also present when the incident happeneddenied reports that he was also involved in the fight, sayinghe only tried to break up the fight.
"When a fight takes place so everybody who is around isblamed. Sanjay entered to stop the fight. He had no fight oranything of that sort with Shirish," Dutt's spokesperson toldPTI.
Once very good friends, Farah choreographed SRK in severalof his films and directed him in Main Hoon Naa and OmShanti Om but their friendship soured after she cast AkshayKumar in Tees Maar Khan in 2010.
Kunder is reported to have said, "Shah Rukh punched andjumped on me. And he had three bodyguards with him. I don'tknow what got him. I was numb with shock so I couldn't react.He kept screaming at me, 'What do you think of yourself? I'llsee to it that you're out of this industry."
Shah Rukh's enmity with Kunder apparently stems from thedays when he refused to do Kunder's Joker.
Kunder, occasionally takes jibes at the actor on hisTwitter page, recently calling his sci-fi Ra.One "a 150 crfirework fizzle".
The other celebrities present at the party, however, havecome out in support of King Khan, saying Kunder had it coming.
