Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar's Bilateral Ties Restored? Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna

SRK and Karan Johar last worked together in 2010 film My Name Is Khan

New Delhi: The grapevine suggests that KJo is working on a script for a film, in which he is planning to cast Shah Rukh. Five years after actor Shah Rukh Khan was last directed in a movie by Karan Johar, the filmmaker is reportedly working on a script and film that will star his once frequent collaborator. The grapevine suggests that the reported rift in the fabled SRK-KJo alliance is now at an end. Of course, all this currently resides in the realm of rumour.

The cinematic roots of the friendship between Shah Rukh and Karan lie in 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, in which KJo played buddy to SRK's character. Over the next 15 years, they delivered hit films such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and 2010's My Name Is Khan. In 2012, SRK produced the KJo-directed film Student Of The Year.

Since then, relations have appeared to frosted over with the Dharma Productions boss forming a very public friendship with SRK's then-enemy Salman Khan, SRK skipping an appearance on KJo's chat show, and being represented by wife Gauri at the parties hosted regularly at the director's home.

However, things appear to have changed recently. While several other Bollywood insiders were at the IIFA weekend in Malaysia last month, SRK is believed to have been at Karan Johar's place having dinner with other KJo cronies old (Kareena Kapoor) and new (Alia Bhatt).

Meanwhile, SRK has also resumed his disrupted friendship with Salman, and with a vengeance. It appears that 'tis the season to be jolly all around.
