New Delhi:
Actor Shahid Kapoor is going to have a busy couple of months soon - baby and new film will arrive in quick succession. Shahid and his wife Mira Rajput are expecting their first child and Times of India reports that the due date is in September. The actor's upcoming film Rangoon releases in October.
"Rangoon is scheduled for release on October 14. Junior will definitely arrive before that. Mira's date is around mid-September, but as it happens in most cases, the baby could arrive a few days before or after the due date," a source told TOI.
Shahid, 35, is also taking very good care of his pregnant wife. "She has started getting cravings for particular kinds of food and he makes sure to indulge her. He has also been accompanying her for visits to the doctor and when they are out, he doesn't let go of her hand or leave her side," said TOI's source.
There has reportedly been no decision yet on whether the baby will be born in Mumbai or Delhi, Mira's hometown.
Shahid and Mira were last spotted at actress Preity Zinta's wedding reception in Mumbai on May 13. "As of now, they are just relieved that Mira is blooming through her pregnancy. In fact, Preity Zinta congratulated her on her glow when they were at the reception to wish her and husband Gene Goodenough," the source told TOI. The couple recently returned from their babymoon in the Maldives.
Before the Vishal Bhardwaj-directed Rangoon, Shahid has Udta Punjab releasing on June 17. The actor will not be promoting either film as he wants to be with Mira during her third trimester. He will also take a break after the baby is born and hasn't signed a new film.
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput, 22, married in July last year. In April, pregnancy rumours started after Mira was spotted with what looked like a baby bump at friend Masaba Gupta's show at Lakme Fashion Week. Later, Shahid told news agency IANS: "Yes, I'm going to become a father."
