London: After months of speculation, Colombian pop star Shakira has gone public about her relationship with Spanish footballer Gerard Pique on her Twitter page.
The 34-year-old star posted a romantic picture of her boyfriend on the microblogging website. The photo shows the smiling pair in front of a beach with the sun beaming down on them and their arms wrapped around each other, with the simple message: 'I present to you my sunshine.'
Shakira and the 24-year-old became the focus of intense media attention earlier this month when gossip magazines published photographs of them holding hands and kissing in Barcelona but they continued to maintain a low profile.
The singer ended her 11-year relationship with lawyer Antonio de la Rua, 37, the eldest son of the former Argentinian premier, amid rumours that he had been cheating on her, the Daily Mail reported. At that time the couple said viewed their separation as temporary but obviously Shakira has decided to move on.
The singer first met Pique last year while shooting the video to her song Waka Waka.
