Shaleen Bhanot to Fans: Don't Blame Dalljiet Kaur For Divorce

New Delhi: It's been four months since TV actors Shaleen Bhanot and Dalljiet Kaur filed for divorce. Shaleen, only recently, appealed to fans and followers to respect their privacy and stop trolling Dalljiet after she was targeted on social media.

Shaleen and Dalljiet filed for divorce by mutual consent in July this year and are parents to a son. The estranged couple have been living separately for a year now.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, Shaleen wrote: "Guys I have a humble request. A broken or failed marriage is between two people and no other gets the right to point fingers at anyone. In my case I've read a lot of mud-slinging against me which I bore but as a man and as someone who has spent a few beautiful years with my son's mother I give no one the right to say things against her in any manner which in turn affects a woman in many ways."

Shaleen, who met Dalljiet on the sets of TV show Kulvaddhu and married her in December 2009, also added: "What's happened is unfortunate but let's end it here. There are better things in store for me and am sure her as well lets concentrate on that."

 Dalljiet opened up about the divorce in an interview with Times of India earlier this year. "Rather than dragging on the matter in court, Shaleen and I have chosen to do it mutually. The court visits have been really depressing. After several meetings with (and without) lawyers and discussing many clauses keeping the future of the child in mind, we have reached a conclusion that divorce is best for both of us," Daljiet told Times of India.

Dalljiet also mentioned that Shaleen will meet their son as par convenience: "Shaleen wants to co-exist in a happier way. He wants to be a good father to my son and I won't deny him that right. I won't let my ego and resentment get in the way of providing a better world to my son. Shaleen will visit our son at mutual convenience since we will be busy with our respective shoots. And I will make honest attempts to make them meet," Dalljiet told Times of India.

 Meanwhile, Dalljiet, who currently features on TV serial Kaala Teeka told mid-day.com: "I have lost 28 kilos in the last year. I was determined and focussed. I am on a strict diet and exercise daily. My new look makes me look years younger."

Dalljiet Kaur has starred in TV serials like Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, Swaragini - Jodein Rishton Ke Sur and Chhoona Hai Aasmaan. Shaleen Bhanot has featured in shows like Kaajjal, Do Hanson Ka Jodaa and Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi. Shaleen and Dalljiet, both 33, have been part of reality shows like Nach Baliye 4 and Nachle Ve Season 3 as a couple.
