New Delhi:
Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore and choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan are set to talk about gender empowerment at the first edition of The Bridge, a conclave.
The conclave, which centres on gender empowerment, will begin on October 8 in the capital.
Luminaries like Vasundhara Raje, Maneka Gandhi, Rohini Nilekani, Ankhi Das, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Mona Eltahawy, Nivedita Menon, Sara Pilot and Nikhil Dey, besides Sharmila and Farah, will be joining the conversation at the conclave.
The event will provide a platform for critical ideas, debates and discourse, and aims to bridge deep-seated biases which are present in today's society.
The Bridge will engage with questions, trials, tribulations and solutions to gender empowerment in varying social, cultural, economic and political contexts and bring together eminent speakers, including politicians, leaders, entrepreneurs, academicians, filmmakers and activists.
"We are at that juncture of life when people of all genders must come together and work for what is overdue. It is our responsibility to bring together those voices of the nation who will project reality as is," Anant Nath, Editor of The Caravan, and also one of the Festival Directors, said in a statement.
