Mumbai: A tile with Shashi Kapoor's hand imprint will be unveiled by his son Kunal here on Saturday (November 9, 2013) as a mark to immortalize the veteran actor's contribution to the film industry.

The tile will later be installed at the UTV Stars' Walk of the Stars at the Bandra Bandstand here.

"This hand print will symbolize his (my father's) contribution to the Indian film industry. It's an honour for me to be able to launch my father's tile in his presence. He's been one of the most popular stars of his time and he will be remembered that way," Kunal said in a statement.

Shashi Kapoor has featured in memorable roles in films like Deewaar, Kabhie Kabhie, Namak Halaal and Kaala Patthar.

His hand imprints will join those of other members from his family - Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, and with brass statues of his late brothers Raj and Shammi.
