Rani Mukerji, Hema Malini and Rekha at Shashi Kapoor's prayer meet

Bollywood celebrities arrived to pay their last respects to acting legend Shashi Kapoor at his prayer meet in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon. The late actor's colleagues and family members were the first ones to arrive at the prayer meet. Rekha, who co-starred with Shashi Kapoor in several films including Do Musafir, Baseraa, Kalyug and Kali Ghata, was pictured entering the venue. Hema Malini, who has also famously co-starred with Shashi Kapoor walked in a little later. Rani Mukerji made one of her rare appearances at the prayer meet. Soha Ali Khan walked in with her husband Kunal Kemmu walked in together. Randhir Kapoor presided over the rituals while Rishi Kapoor's wife Neetu Kapoor also walked in. Both Rishi and Randhir Kapoor are Shashi Kapoor's nephews. Randhir Kapoor's daughter Karisma Kapoor arrived with mother Babita while Raj Kapoor's wife Krishna Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor's wife Neila Devi were also escorted to the venue.
Aamir Khan's wife Kiran Rao was also photographed. Armaan and Adaar Jain - sons of Raj Kapoor's daughter Reema Jain - were also present. Jeetendra and Rakesh Roshan arrived at the venue together.
Shashi Kapoor's children - Sanjana, Kunal and Karan Kapoor - were pictured welcoming the guests. Lyricist Gulzar and actor Raza Murad were also spotted at the do.
Shashi Kapoor died at Mumbai's Kokilaben Ambani Hospital last Monday. He was 79.
On the morning following Shashi Kapoor's death, the veteran actor was cremated with state honours at the Santa Cruz crematorium, with a three-gun salute by Mumbai Police. It was a rain drenched Tuesday for Mumbai as the city was hit by Cyclone Ockhi, but Shashi Kapoor's funeral was joined by the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Lara Dutta, Sanjay Dutt, Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah.
On Monday evening, Amitabh Bachchan was one of the first ones to drop by the Kapoor residence with son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya. Other celebrities who were photographed arriving at the residence included Rani Mukerji and Kajol.
Shashi Kapoor was the recipient of the Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award as well as several film honours.
Aamir Khan's wife Kiran Rao was also photographed. Armaan and Adaar Jain - sons of Raj Kapoor's daughter Reema Jain - were also present. Jeetendra and Rakesh Roshan arrived at the venue together.
