Mumbai: Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha who will be seen in director A R Murugadoss's Akira, says that he agreed to do this film solely because of his daughter Sonakshi Sinha and A R Murugadoss.

"I am doing this film mainly because of Murugadoss and Sonakshi. The director desired to work with me and Sonakshi who is the apple of my eye, prompted me to do this film," said the 69-year-old actor.

The Loha actor also joked that he was 'very nervous' to feature in a film with Sonakshi.

"I have already done more than 250 films and politically I am very busy travelling which makes it difficult for me to manage time for films," he said at the launch of a magazine cover.

In spite of directing two Hindi films and being in the industry for almost 15 years, Mr Sinha could not recognise Murugadoss for the first time.

"I thought Murugadoss was a senior person. When he entered the room, I asked him about Murugadoss. He said that he was the one. I was surprised as he turned out to be a nice gentleman. I met him and he has a very unassuming personality," said Mr Sinha.

Akira is a remake of the Tamil film Mouna Guru and also features Konkona Sen Sharma, Anurag Kashyap and Amit Sadh.
