
Shatrughan Sinha wants to do his bit for expediting relief work in the state

Actor-politician Shatrughan Sinhatoday volunteered to donate Rs 50 lakh for the rehabilitationof flood-affected people of Uttarakhand and appealed otherparliamentarians to come forward with the monetary assistance.
"I wish to donate Rs 50 lakh from my fund for expeditingrelief and rehabilitation of victims in Uttarakhand and appealto other parliamentarians to come forward with monetaryassistance at this hour of crisis," Mr Sinha, Lok Sabha memberfrom Patna Saheb in Bihar, told PTI over phone from Mumbai.
The actor-turned BJP leader said that the disaster inUttarakhand should be declared as national calamityconsidering the magnitude of destruction, rains and floodshave caused there.
"Though announcement of Rs 1000 crore by the prime minister is a gooddecision but it appears to be too small considering magnitudeof the destruction," Mr Sinha, who served as Union Minister inthe Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, said.
"I love Uttarakhand and have visited many times as I didnumber of film shootings, hence my heart goes out for thevictims of the natural calamity there and wish to contributein the rehabilitation work by providing monetary assistancefrom his fund," he said.
Mr Sinha said his whole family including actress daughterSonakshi Sinha condole deaths in the state and wish speedyrecovery of wounded.
