Shekhar Kapur: My uncle Dev Anand, the man no one knew...
New Delhi:  Noted filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, has posted a touching blog on his uncle, legendary actor Dev Anand who died in London on Saturday.

"Dev Anand lived n died at his own terms. He was working one minute. Sat down and smiled. And was gone the next. So much 2 learn," tweeted Kapur.

In the blog, Shekher Kapur remembers his own break into movies with Ishq Ishq Ishq. The 1974 Hindi film was directed by and starred Dev Anand along with Zeenat Aman, Kabir Bedi and Shabana Azmi. As Kapur says, Dev Anand had put all his own money, almost everything he owned into the film, which turned out to be a disaster at the box-office.

The indefatigable spirit of the legendary actor shines through. v"Dev Anand has just lost everything. All his money and everything he sold to make his most ambitious project ever. There are few more intimate moments you could share with a courageous man than his coming to terms with complete defeat. He was sad. Reflective."

"For all of five minutes. He then looked at me and smiled," Shekhar Kapur posted.
