Shekhar Kapur on London Film Festival jury
London: Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur,best known for his films Bandit Queen and Elizabeth, hasbeen named as one of the jury member for upcoming London filmfestival, which begins October 13.

To be headed by Patricia Clarkson, the jury alsoincludes Gabriel Byrne and Sandy Powell.

Kapur, who was also on jury for the Cannes filmfestival, will be judging films including Danny Boyle's 127Hours, Mike Leigh's Another Year, Darren Aronofsky's BlackSwan and Tom Hooper's The King's Speech, the HollywoodReporter said.

The best film award was introduced last year at the15-day-long festival, which will roll red carpet for some ofthe biggest cinematic talent.

Last year's winner was Jacques Audiard's A Prophet.Other awards to be given out during the ceremonyinclude a nod for best British newcomer; the Sutherland Award,presented to the director of the festival's most original andimaginative feature debut; and the Grierson documentaryfeature award.

The best British newcomer will emerge from amongwriters, directors, producers and actors including ConorMcCarron for his turn in Neds and Richard Ayoade, thewriter-director of Submarine.Boyle will also be honoured with a fellowship byBritish Film Institute during the festival.
