New Delhi:

As promised, Vidya Balan shared the trailer of her much awaited film Sherni and it will make you forget blinking. The two-and-a-half minute trailer is yet another proof of Vidya Balan's brilliance on screen. She plays a forest officer named Vidya, whose new assignment is to track down a distressed tigress, which has left villagers and locals terrorized. On her mission, Vidya is faced with sexism at every step of the way - the trailer shows that at her posting station, Vidya's efficiency is questioned just because she is a female officer. However, Vidya is clearly undeterred and is focused on leading a team of trackers and locals to track down the tigress.

Co-starring with Vidya Balan, Sharat Saxena plays a boastful hunter, who claims he can identify a man-eater just by looking at the tiger's eyes. Paatal Lok star Neeraj Kabi is also added to the cast - he plays an overconfident forest officer, ready to "take over" from Vidya. The Sherni trailer soon takes a sudden turn as more deaths are reported in the forest. One particular dialogue heightens the mystery all the more: "It's a pre-planned murder." The cast of Sherni also includes actors such as Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun and Brijendra Kala, who feature in the trailer.

While sharing the trailer, Vidya wrote on Instagram: "Be courageous. Be strong. Be fearless. It's time for the Sherni to roar!" Watch the trailer of Vidya Balan's Sherni here:

Sherni is directed by filmmaker Amit Masurkar, who has helmed the critically acclaimed 2017 movie Newton. Sherni will premiere on Amazon Prime on June 18.
