ShilohFernandez is glad he missed out the lead role in the'Twilight' series because it would have been hard for him todeal with the attention later on.
The 25-year-old actor, who was one of the fourfront-runners to play Edward Cullen in the highly successfulvampire franchise, is convinced he would not be mentallystable enough to deal with the massive cult following,reported a celebrity website.
Fernandez is however grateful for the opportunities hehas received after turning down the offer.
"No one had any idea what Twilight would become. Atthe time, it was just another audition. I didn't realise I wasmissing out on stardom and giant pay cheques.
"Now, looking back on it, I certainly wouldn't havebeen mentally stable enough to deal with all that. Lucky forme, not getting that part led to other work that was a muchbetter fit for me," he said.
The actor will be next seen in the upcoming movie 'RedRiding Hood' to be directed by Catherine Hardwicke.
