Shilpa Shirodkar thanks Bollywood career for comeback
The actress is making her comeback with the TV show Ek Mutthi Aasman.
Mumbai: Actress Shilpa Shirodkar, who is set to make a comeback to acting after 13 years, but on the small screen, credits her second innings to Bollywood.

She will be seen in TV show Ek Mutthi Aasman.

"I must have done something good in the 1990s that I got this opportunity to come back after 13 years," said the 43-year-old.

She is known for films such as Hum, Gopi Kishan and Khuda Gawah.

Shilpa, a known face in Hindi cinema in the 1990s, quit the industry after marriage.

"I got married in 2000 and I left the industry because my mother believed that everything has a shelf life and you should never try to extend it. So it was important that I got married and have kids and make my home," Shilpa said.

In the show, she plays a housemaid, Kamla Bai who has big dreams for her children.

When asked what dream she harbours for her real-life nine-year-old daughter, Shilpa said, "Right now I don't have to make her anything, it's only studies for her. I just want her to open her books more than the television."
