New Delhi:

If childhood nostalgia was to be personified by someone in Bollywood, we would nominate Siddhant Chaturvedi to do the honours. Now you're probably wondering why are talking about childhood. Well, we were reminded of a host of throwback memories thanks to a post by the talented actor. In a lovely video that served as a testimony to his poetic skills, Siddhant has given us all much to ponder over. It also helps that the actor looks absolutely adorable in the video, sitting gleefully on a swing as we ourselves did as children. You also cannot possibly ignore the beautiful mountain ranges stretching behind him, giving us some solid reasons to miss travelling as well.

The lovely video aside, it is Siddhant's caption that has put us on this nostalgia path. His caption is essentially a poem that he penned in memory of a more carefree time. It goes like this:

"Akhri baar jhoole pe kab baithe the?
Pedh se Jaamun kab tode the?
Kaagaz ki plane kab udai thi?
X and 0 kab jeete the? (Hamesha Draw)
Likhne ne zada toh Pen-fight mein use hoti thi Pen…
Tv pe dekhte Popeye, Dexter aur Ben-10,
Geeli rumal ko ghuma ke “Phatak”
Kache aam pe namak aur laal mirch ka chatak
Bachpan toh kalpana ko pankh deta hai, aur jaise jaise badey hote hain ye system uss udaan ko Jung deta hai."

We have attempted to translate the lovely poem from you.

"When was the last time we sat on a swing?
When you picked berries from the trees?
Flew planes folded out of paper?
Won an x-and-o match? (Draw always)
Pens would be used more for pen fights and less for writing...
Watching on television, Popeye, Dexter and Ben-10,
Playing with wet handkerchiefs,
Relishing salt and chillis on fresh raw mangoes
Childhood gives wings to imagination, and wages war from this system as we grow older."

Siddhant Chaturvedi's talents have been no secret, but this post makes it imperative for us to add poetry to his growing list of skills. This poem encapsulates every little part of most of our childhoods that we hold dear. And his fans seem to agree, given the barrage of nostalgic and sentimental comments under his post.
