Siddharth And KJo Get Into A Verbal Spat

Highlights

  • Karan Johar and south actor Siddharth got into a verbal volley of words on Twitter on Wednesday night. The argument started when a fan of the Rang De Basanti star posted a comment saying, "You look so much like Karan Johar!", to which the director replied, "Didn't know I looked that bad Sid! Apologies!." Eventually Sid tried to put humour in the situation and said, "Ha! Ha! Of course you don't. Welcome back Karan." Even though it looks like friendly banter, a source close to KJo reveals the director didn't take it lightly. "Karan has stayed away from the micro-blogging site for a while. It was shocking that Sid would say something like this on a public forum. He's always considered the actor a friend. The comment was totally uncalled for." Late in the night yesterday after we texted him, Siddharth posted an online apology saying, "Karan Johar is a very genuine, respectable filmmaker who I am very fond of and have enjoyed meeting and knowing. He has always been a very helpful senior and friend. If a silly, unintended joke goes awry, let me just say I had absolutely no intent to hurt Karan or his many admirers. That's all there is to be said! No more comments! Peace!."

KJo refused to comment, but the source insists the director was hurt and upset by Sid's tweets.

During the Indo-Pak match Chetan Bhagat tweeted, "If Gul Panag had married Umar Gul, would her name become Gul Gul?" The actress wasn't too pleased and replied, "Chetan Bhagat at least you are expected to be more original than that."
